Claire Zanelli
Claire Zanelli is a London based fine art painter and arts educator. She gained an honours degree in Fine Art from Massey University, New Zealand in 2008.
Being half Italian, she spent much of her life traveling to Italy, finding her passion for painting and art history in the museums and churches she visited. Her work shows the influence of the Renaissance and Baroque painting styles that have always been an inspiration to her.
In her work Claire explores the ‘otherness’ of death and its associated objects and experiences, and through this the reconstruction of the self.
She has developed a highly detailed approach to painting, capturing life and death in a manner that cannot be absorbed in a single glance.
